The sales have been great. Is anyone else stalking their emails each day to see what good deal they will get and justifying the purchase because you are saving 40%?! That is what I tell John.... "Sweetie I only buy things on sale and all of this was 40% off!! I saved this much $$$$ by buying all of this!!". He understands that shopping comes to a halt once baby arrives so he is politely holding his tongue and not freaking at all of the boxes on our front porch when he arrives home from work. I am grateful.
Asos has been my go to this pregnancy for clothes that are flattering, budget friendly and make me look like I have some semblance of style. I did have some construction workers whistle at me today and say "lookin' good Momma!" when I exited a job site trailer while wearing one of these new outfits so maybe that is a sign. Honestly... I don't know that they wouldn't have whistled at the mustache sportin' checkout lady at the gas station up the street but I still took it as a sign that my shirt and pants are flattering. My boss was with me and managed to say something to them under his breathe that I didn't quite catch. I'm sure John appreciates this subconsciously.
Anyway, here are some of the items I personally have purchased and worn in the 3rd trimester and some items that I wish I could justify buying because they look so cute! Also, note that all of these I plan on wearing post pregnancy because they are not necessarily screaming maternity clothes plus let's be honest with each other...I'll need the extra room and stretch for a while. I'm giving birth right before Thanksgiving and Christmas friends.
Black swing dress: The fabric is great and it hangs perfectly!! Not too thin, doesn't cling and you need a basic black dress throughout your pregnancy.
This tunic I am loving!! The pockets are a leather trim and perfect transition piece until it gets a bit colder. I'm wearing with leggings but this would be long enough for tights also. I would size up on this item. I ordered a size and they mistakenly sent me a size up and thank GOODNESS they did!
I purchased two colors of this top. It is wonderful and makes me so happy. I have essentially tented the upper third of my body and I am ok with it. Do not underestimate the power of complete concealment and a pair of black leggings. Yes, I am wearing leggings to work and I dare someone to challenge me. Also, I can't wait for cooler temps so I can throw on some suede booties and really jazz up my tent.
Update on the above... it is currently out of stock in both the berry color and black. They have a super similar top with a v-neck that appears to be the same with the exception of the neckline.
These pants... I have to send back for a larger size. No shame here... I underestimated the size of my bottom. But, I think I am going to love them. I look just like the model... ok I am a few inches shorter and a few inches wider but I've been sporting this style of pant since the day I found out I was pregnant and can't seem to stop buying them. Peg pants are almost as bad as skinny jeans to John. But he also told me I'm prettier with no makeup on, workout clothes and running shoes. He wants me to wear running shoes with everything. Who is he? Glad I wear makeup everyday... ?
Now onto shoes!! Every females best friend in the fashion department. Shoe sizes don't change! No, they do. Even your feet get bigger and fatter during pregnancy. I have had to return both pairs below for a larger size but that is ok.... I didn't necessarily need to wear animal skin and suede prior to this weekend.
As I go to the Gap website to pull the shoes up I realize they no longer have my leopard pointy toe flats. These are the amazing green version of them and I may need these also. Plus, 30% off until tonight! Order away my friends!
And another fun pair I now call my own are linked up here. I can't get Shoemint.com to cooperate and let me grab a picture. Red suede smoking slippers are the look.
I'm pretty much loving all the new fall looks and I'm not so sad about "missing out" since Asos does such a fabulous job on maternity. Gap maternity frankly makes me upset. I do not need another boring short sleeve cotton t-shirt that stretches out within 10 minutes and shrinks to a crop top if I put it in the dryer. Thank you Gap.
