Since we are making it work in our current house for the time being I am ready to turn our upstairs loft area into a "playroom" for Ann as well as a more efficient home office for me.
This will be a slow process I think but I've been thinking about the layout and look I'm going for and I'm excited to share the whole process! Any tips are appreciated as this is a small area and also works as a hallway to Ann's bedroom and access to ours, so keeping it neat and tidy is a must as well as keeping it in style with the rest of our home (you can see it from the downstairs living area). A lot to accomplish is a small area but I'm confident I can do it!
Here are the before pictures. This is untouched livin folks. As you can see I have am in the process of packing up and storing a lot of Ann's "baby" stuff. She's still a baby... why doesn't she need her infant tub and bouncy chair still?! I'm having personal issues with this process so needing to store these things so Ann can have a play area is an important step in moving forward.
This is looking towards our bedrooms. I'm stressed just looking at this mess of clothes behind Ann's door that needs folding, cataloguing and storing... my unmade bed and my bag from the weekend. Not to mention the walls that desperately need painting. Color craze anyone?
I'm hoping to use the ikat navy rug you see thrown on the floor and definitely keeping the desk that my Dad built last fall and the desk lamp. Everything else it up for consideration except maybe the curtains because I do not want to buy another 84" length curtain again. No more 8' ceilings going forward. Ever.
Advice, inspiration photos and deals online are all welcome emails, comments or phone calls! Get busy decorating my loft people!
Oh, one more item to discuss. The turkey fans on the wall are leaving town. Don't worry...
