Now that is out of the way here are some details on our little girl!!
Ann Geurian Teeter was born at 6:13 p.m. on September 16th. She weighed 8 oz and is 20.5 inches long. In other words she is PERFECT.
Here is my first picture with her... I guess Sarah had not gotten ahold (not sure if that is a word but I'm using it) of my hair yet but I will say that this is probably the one time in my life where I was not concerned about my hair. The one and only time. The last time. (also these pictures are sadly blurry...)
| Totally thinking "Oh my gosh...oh my gosh.... Ann!!! You're so pretty!! I LOVE YOU!!!! " |
Most of the rest of my pictures of Ann are sadly from my iphone. Phone cameras have ruined everyone I think! So much easier to snap a picture with my phone than to grab my camera. I'm trying to be better though so I have higher quality pictures of our little girl baby.
This is how Ann loves to sleep. She prefers not to be swaddled so that her arms are free and she can stretch her legs out. She also loves sleeping in her basket. We have a stand for it and that is where she sleeps at night in her room. The first two nights she made it in her crib but after her exhaustion of being born wore off she realized she was in a vast open space and decided she needs to be cozy. She sleeps so good in this basket and is such an adult girl baby for sleeping in her room! Anyone think she has her Daddy's cheeks??

Labor wasn't bad at all! I know everyone has a different experience and people tend to tell you only their horror stories rather than their easy labor stories so I'll share that everything was pretty smooth. The main hiccup was the epidural. It only worked on my left side so my right side was not numb but the pain was manageable and you definitely need to pay attention to the breathing exercises they tell you to do because that is what got me through the pain. We went in to be induced but that morning I went into labor on my own and we were having regular contractions which is in stride with our little girl wanting to go ahead and do this on her own. We were in labor for about 12 hours with the first few being a relaxing morning and the last few an exercise in pain management. John was a perfect husband and "coach" and I couldn't have gotten through it without his calm and steady encouragement. My Mom, sister and mother in law were with us the entire day with my Dad in and out and John's Dad patiently waiting at our house with our fur babies. I loved having our family close all day and the distraction was more than welcome. When it was time to push it was just John and I and the nurses and doctor. My doctor was incredible as well as my main nurse. They both made the entire experience easy and relaxed. I didn't have any anxiety and was ready to do whatever they asked of me to get Ann here as quickly as possible!! Ann arrived and our whole world changed in the best way possible!!
I love being at home with this little girl and as much as I want her to stay this size forever we are excited to teach her everything we can and help her develop into a well rounded beautiful young woman.
We are savoring every single moment with her and obviously cannot imagine what in the world we did without this little stinker in our lives!! She is everything we expected and much much more. We are so blessed to have a healthy, perfect little girl and thank God every day for her. She is perfection right in front of us!

Ohhhhhh...she's precious! We are so happy that both of of you are at home...happy and healthy! We can't wait for her first visit to the lake!
