This Week's Summary

- It's Friday!!  This week has flown by and I am so ready to have this entire weekend to put everything in our house back in place.  I think the stress of our house being a disaster has contributed to the massive swelling of my ankles and feet.... not the mass amounts of restaurant food I have consumed this week because instead of going to the grocery store I go home and work on the house... that wouldn't be causing this.  I would show you a picture but it would only horrify you and you would never look at my feet the same.  I already hate my feet and seeing them in this state shows me what they would look like if I gained 100 pounds and was accepted to be on The Biggest Loser.  Here is a small tidbit that will give you a visual... they jiggle when I walk.  How awful is THAT?!  I can't believe I just shared that either...

- This week our new carpet was installed and I'm happy to have new carpet but a tad disappointed in my choice of color.  Not sure why I went with a color so dark but I think it will be fine.  It comes across as a light chocolate instead of a deep tan and has a purplish color which concerned John.  He knows not to criticize my choice too much though because it is already installed and we can't change it and if he criticizes then I'll emotionally scream that he should have helped me pick it out rather than leave an eight month (at the time) pregnant person to do it last minute.  Carpet is in, puppy stair barrier is up and the confused and hurt looks on their faces is slowly eating away at me and I fear that I will eventually let them upstairs on the new carpet and begin the fight with dog hair... don't let me break down.  Pray that I will remain strong and will just spoil them with new toys, new beds, new collars, steak and ice cubes anytime they want them.

- Ann's room will be complete by Sunday!!  That's the goal I have imposed on me, John and my parents who are graciously helping in every way they can.  When they leave at night I say "see you tomorrow!!!" as if they have nothing better to do than come over and help me get essentially one item a night done instead of efficiently knocking out multiple things.  They are definitely troopers.  Tonight I will put away all of Ann's clothes and let me tell you that she has more clothes than I do and I will now focus on my own wardrobe instead of hers.  I am jealous of her clothes... is that normal?  She has a better Razorback game day wardrobe than I do at this point.

- I have officially gained 30 pounds.  People nicely tell me I'm all belly.... well let me tell you that I do not have 30 pounds just in my belly, what would that even look like??

- My sister shared a blog with me this morning that is hilarious.  It's mean though so don't read it if you are easily offended.  It is written in Suri Cruise's point of view.  If you don't know who that is then don't read it because it will not be funny to you, it will just be mean.  Anyway here is a link:  http://surisburnbook.tumblr.com/

- Now since I have shared a very mean but funny blog I will repent by noting what I am grateful for this week:
  • Every one's generosity with gifts for Ann, John and I.  I am overwhelmed by how sweet everyone has been with showers and thoughtful when it comes to gifts.  We all know we are obsessed with our own babies and children but when so many friends seem to share that same enthusiasm it is wonderful.  We truly appreciate every single gift and cannot wait to return the love when all of our friends have little ones of their own!!
  • My husband... he hasn't complained once that I haven't been to the grocery store and have made him fend for himself for nutrition.  He also hasn't complained when he gets home from work and I'm running around our house like a crazy person doing things in the most inefficient order and giving him looks like "why are you not carrying all of our heavy furniture upstairs by yourself and why aren't you assembling the crib and why are you not cleaning out the garage and my car and reading the car seat instructions and feeding me dinner and massaging my grossly puffy feet and giving the dogs mass amounts of attention and cleaning our exterior windows because all of a sudden I see how dirty they are and it's driving me insane and watering our yard even though it is clearly dead and raking the leaves that have prematurely fallen from our massive trees and then looking at me lovingly and asking me what else can he do?"  That's a good husband.  He also doesn't complain when I sit down and play Dr. Mario on the Wii for a good hour with that ANNOYING background music while he is trying to do something upstairs that I have asked him to do... that game is seriously addicting and annoying at the same time.  I have a love/hate relationship with it now.  It haunts me.  I. Can't. Stop.
  • Complete strangers who have approached me and tell me I look great or so cute.... Bless You, you have no idea how much better that makes me feel when I've worn the same pants to work 4 days this week and now have to revert back to the pony-tail holder trick to keep them buttoned.  To be told you look cute is a day changer at this point.
  • That we are less than a month away from meeting our little girl which in turn means that we are two weeks away from FOOTBALL SEASON.  A lot of good things come with football season, cooler weather, pumpkins, my favorite candle from Aromatique can be put out, I can use less hairspray because of lower humidity and I won't sweat my hair flat, boots, tailgate food, firewood being delivered, open windows, mums everywhere, that smell outside... fall smell... crisp mornings... I am aware that this will not all happen immediately following the first football game but it means it is close and if I can see the light at the end of this horrendous summer heat then I will make it.  Since we have a lot of trees in Northwest Arkansas that have went into a dormant state to protect themselves against the lack of rain it means we have falling leaves and some slight coloration of the trees.... I have found myself driving and pretending it is fall outside because the air has been really clear, we have leaves everywhere and I have the AC on high so I can almost imagine what it feels like to open the car door and have a refreshing burst of fall air hit me...  you do that too right?  This close to buying a new pair of jeans and ordering a new pair of Frye boots to reward myself for being a lazy slob this entire summer but I will wait... I will wait to see how many sizes larger I need of jeans and if my feet will ever be bony again so I can wear a 7 1/2 boot and not a size 9.
I'll hopefully be able to post some nursery pictures early next week!  This weekend will be busy but I plan to work on some things to hang on the walls to complete the room.  Pinterest is my new best friend when it comes to DIY ideas.
