What's Up

What's Up With Us!

- I'd say the most exciting and important change recently is our walking Baby!!  Ann has been trying for some time now and is finally consistently walking to her desired locations rather than crawling.  I'm loving the walking stage (is it a stage?  Guess it's the rest of her life).  Crawling stressed me out... actually the pulling up and trying to walk stressed me out and consistent walking is so much better than the bumps and crying that resulted from unstable maneuvers to unexplored territory.  She still falls on her bottom and when she needs to get somewhere fast (beat me to the stairs or restricted puppy room) she resorts to crawling at high speed.  She almost beats me sometime... how does that happen?

- Ann says Mama now!!  She held out on me... she says Daddy, doggy, yes (yesh), that, yeah, look and other things that I haven't identified yet but Mama was not even close.  Then one day she said it plain as day and laughed.  My heart swelled and I obsessively ask her to say it now.

- Ann is eating only grown up food now.  She refuses anything close to baby food except apple sauce and I have to say I love cooking for her.  I need to get better at cooking one family meal but right now I am cooking for Ann separately.  John loves the "Ann food" so I should just go ahead and make it for us too... it's not anything we don't like I just like being Ann's personal chef and then making John and I boring food.  Good use of my time..

- Tara and Ann are now friends.  Ann always laughed at Tara but Tara only liked Ann for her crumbs.  Now, Tara will sit next to Ann and lay on the floor with her sweetly.  My heart swells again.

- August weather has been A Mazing.  I have loved my early mornings (Ann's new wake up time is between 5:00 and 5:30 am consistently) because it truly feels like early fall outside with 55 degree mornings and mid 80's during the day.  Thank you for this reprieve from July temps... I feel rejuvenated and motivated again!

- Football season is so close I can smell it, touch it and imaaaaagine it!!  If you know me, you know I am obsessed with Razorback football.  I have started planning my game day outfits and I've been secretly shopping for attire.  I need to buy Ann some new outfits!  She has a cheerleader uniform that I'm sure she will sport to most games but she needs some fun things sprinkled in.  Last year I was huge pregnant for the first few games, then sported the lovely post pregnant body to the rest of them.  Let's just say I couldn't have felt uglier, fatter and less excited about game clothes.  This year though... this year it's on.

- We have decided to stay in our house through at least football season unless the perfect home comes up during it.  Our house is walking distance to the university/stadium and I can't imagine not having one more season in our house.  Fall is my favorite time of year in general but especially for our home and I can deal with the inconveniences for 6 more months to enjoy one more fall here.

- In relation to the previous statement that means John has agreed to let me do a couple things in the house to 1. Make it more desirable to a buyer and 2.  Keep me from whining until we can find a house we both love and 3. because I can't NOT have home projects...

-  Now, the big one.  No, the big ONE.  Ann is turning ONE.  Lawdy where did this year go?  I'll do an entire post or seven on my emotions, the party, the planning, the crying and the pictures I'm sure but right now I am so excited about this milestone and the adventures to come.  One year old... goodness I'm blessed to be talking about this milestone as it seems too many parents never get to celebrate this with their babies.

Sorry about the lack of pictures but I'm promising to step it up tomorrow!
