Ann turned Nine, 9, nuevo, 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 months on June 16th. Ummmm hello grown baby!! It has flown by yet I look back and September of last year seems so far away from where we are now in our lives. All I know is I have not experienced a more blessed nine months and instead of being sad about Ann changing and growing I know I am blessed to have a healthy child that is zooming through life when I feel like so many parents are devastated by the standstill of never knowing what their baby is at nine months, 2 years or 35 years old and only knowing them at one day or 3 months. Life and age is a blessing only God can give and why grieve the past but live in the moment and look forward to the future. (this is my motto for myself while approaching 30 quickly).
Ann has been healthy for the most part minus a sneaky ear infection that we did not see any symptoms of until her ear drum ruptured and a cold that we now know was the culprit of the ear infection and a nasty virus causing sores under her tongue that despite thinking was hand foot mouth was not that at all. Ann is well again thank goodness because the zombies that John and I were last week was a little scary.
Ann is super fast crawling, pulls up on everything including using any solid vertical surface as support for walking. She is so close to walking and we officially purchased her first grown baby shoes last night. I realized that Ann was the ONLY baby in her daycare class that did not wear shoes to school and I felt uncomfortable, stupid and bad for my baby having grocery store feet while the others run around in fancy sandles. Well the only size 3 they had in the entire Dillard's are these:
Not the classy, timeless, white three buckle sandle I was looking for but hey, whatever protects her little feet and allows her to safely be on the go. Ah well, Ann doesn't care what they look like.
Ann's new favorite activity is to use objects such as her toy basket as a "walker" and walk all over the house with it. The beauty of hardwood floors vs carpet.
Food update: Ann only eats vegetables, puffs and has recently discovered a liking for beef and chicken. She will eat a little fruit mixed with veggies now but not plain fruit without rejecting after two bites. She also likes cheese and likes up to three bites of yogurt. Ann is still breast feeding but I'm doing at least every other bottle formula to transition. I am so sad at the thought of stopping breast feeding at a year but know that it will be ok and that I am blessed to have been able to breastfeed for the first year. Ann is less and less interested in it anyway unless it is 2 in the morning so that makes this transition easier as well.
This is what my house looks like now. No more can someone stop by and my house is in entertain worthy condition.
This is how we have "baby proofed" our downstairs. I realize it will not work for long.
We will be preparing for our annual Colorado trip this next week and this is how we plan on Ann experiencing everything while we're out there. John thinks taking Ann on a backpacking trip would be fun now that we have this. I don't think that comment even deserves a response. If anyone remembers my first experience backpacking they will agree with me.
I better get busy. We are hoping to get a new house under contract early next week and the rest of our weekend will be assessing our house and what we can do to make it sell as quickly as possible!! Here is a preview of the project I am taking on with hopefully our "new" house:
Ohhhhhhh yeah we are getting a fixer upper!!!
