Sheets - The Soft Kind

I have had a love affair with one set of sheets for quite some time now.  Seven years?  Yes,  I think it has been seven years.  They were soft the moment I pulled them out of the wonderful package they came in.  Does anyone else love the plastic envelopes bedding comes in?  I love them... don't want to throw them away and want to store things in them.  But only if they have snaps.    I always think I'll keep the envelopes and store the unused bedding in them but somehow they always end up in the trash and I don't have a linen closet in this house anyway...

Well, these sheets were purchased at a wonderful little store in Oxford, MS for my Ole Miss bed and they are glorious.  So glorious that Sarah adopted them (a nice way to say stole), took the sheets to Little Rock with her and she so graciously returned them to me while packing up her house last week for their big move.

I have to be fair in saying I did not try very hard to take the sheets with me from Oxford but left them on my most amazing bed there.... the bed that Sarah also somehow adopted for her home in Little Rock.  I thought that one day I would be reunited with that bed, those sheets and that mattress but then I got married and my husband doesn't like to be enveloped in a mattress of softness with sheets with oriental women on them.  Patterned sheets!!

I feel like you can tell how soft they are just by that picture!!    I love the colors as well, the whimsical play on toile and the surprise when you pull back a white duvet or coverlet to see these little ladies.  Also, a fun thing is there is never a question of which direction the fitted sheet needs to go!!  That is seriously one of the most annoying things when you realize the fitted sheet isn't the correct direction and you have to start over.  Small arrows bedding companies... that's all I need.

Pinecone Hill is a wonderful company and all of their bedding is high quality, soft and wears great.  I've been cheap lately and refused to invest in nice sheets ($$$) and we completely regret it.  There is something to say for nice sheets and when you think about it, you're in your bed so much and if it hinders your ability to be comfortable and sleep great then what is the point?  We splurge on couches but not sheets... and I'm in my bed way more than on my couch.  You could not purchase their products online until recently so now you can ogle their wares online rather than to stalk stores that carry their products again and again, and again.

My Mom is in love with their bedding as well and has purchased several duvets, quilts and coverlets for our family over the years that are all as soft and beautiful as they were the day she brought them home.  We tend to exchange bedding between the three of us when we want to switch things up.  We all have a love affair with linens and Sarah and I do not have the room nor the bank accounts to buy everything we want... that's when Mom steps in and shares her collection of beautiful bedding.  Thank you Momma!!

If we get the house we are currently under negotiations on then I'll be tweaking my decorating into a more 60's playful traditional (totally made up that style and can't wait to do it!).  Think, bright color accents (oh wait I already do that), streamlined furniture with antiques mixed in and some modern pieces as well.  I want the bedrooms to be luxurious little nests and this is what I want my nest to be based around.  If John can sleep on pink ladies he can sleep in a pink bedroom.  (I used to HATE pink... is this what having a daughter does to you?).

I also love anything monogrammed and that includes sheets.  These would be great to put a monogram on..

The look:

So now I need the Hermes blanket... here I come Ebay.
