Life took over for a minute, sorry! Here is what we've been up to the past week:
- Last week John treated himself to a five day turkey hunting trip since he has a built in baby sitter and wife who loves him and has been brainwashed into thinking if he doesn't have these hunting trips he will be less of himself and not as good of a husband and father and go crazy and then run away into the woods for good and never come back. I'm not kidding... he needs to be outside. So I practiced being a single mom and let me say I was a cranky one but also loved the girl time. I will not lie.... my parents helped 3 of the 5 days :).
- This is what I did to my car while John was gone. Maybe it was a subconscious acting out on my part in rebellion of him leaving me at home alone with our 7 month old?? I will find a way to blame him instead of claiming responsibility. Side note: I did end up fitting the light cover back on and I look way less white trash than I did before.
- We spent the weekend at the river house with my parents and family friends. It was wonderful. Perfect spring weather, 4 adults to help take care of Ann, sleeping in, sleeping with Ann in the bed which means hours of snuggles, all meals cooked for us, and the best coffee because the river house old coffee maker makes it that way. John can thank my parents for keeping his wife and child entertained and safe while he was gone. I was well rested and happy to welcome him home with a dead turkey for the freezer. And the fan, and turkey beard, and feet.... in my freezer. The freezer where I put Ann's homemade baby food. I'll stop now.
- I tried to make banana bread since my bananas were overly ripe. So excited to eat a slice with coffee before work this week.... well no. Apparently 45 minutes in the oven just isn't enough time and I didn't check the middle before doing this: (Do not try to piece it back together and put into the oven, that did not work)
- I made this (brussel sprouts, bacon, onions & garlic) to make up for the bread fiasco. It was delicious and easy. Not healthy, but easy. There's a huge difference.
- Ann wanted to wake up around 5:30 each morning while John was gone. So we got our beat on. Uncle Brady will be proud to know Ann has the rhythm her Mommy and Daddy do not.
- I am picking up some fun headbands today that the sweetest girl I've recently met is making for Ann!! Here is her brand new Etsy shop that you must visit. She will do anything custom and is so talented and sweet to work with! I'll post pictures of Ann's newest accessories after we receive them today.
We have a super fun weekend ahead filled with fun and friends. I'll post some yummy recipes following our dinner party tomorrow night. Have a great weekend!!
