I love to read and love sharing books that I've enjoyed. I usually don't read anything too ground breaking or hugely thought provoking but they are good stories and let you escape a bit into another world. I tend to gravitate towards historical fiction or biographies or stories revolving around dogs (who doesn't love a good dog story?). I'll try to post a couple books a month that I've read and feel free to let me know what you think when you're doing reading it!
This book was suggested by my Mom and it was suggested to her by a friend. I probably wouldn't have picked it up on my own which makes it even more fun.
It's a great family story and was very hard to put down. Definitely a tear jerker but not in a devastating, cry yourself silly way; mostly in a heart wrenching haunting way....if that makes sense. Being a mother probably causes you to feel a little more strongly about certain things that happen in the book and I had to get up and hold Ann a few times. You'll understand after you read it :).
I hope you pick it up and let me know it you loved or thought it was a waste of time! I'll probably read some more novels by this author. If her other characters are as rich as the characters in this book they will for sure be great escapes as well.
Have a great fall day!! It's 45 and dropping in Fayetteville. Perfect weather for a wool blanket, a cozy chair and a great cup of coffee.
