I realize that I am rather late to join the crock pot craze but better late than never!! This is one of the BEST pork tenderloins I have ever put in mah tummy and it couldn't have been easier. I plan on making it the next time we have friends over for dinner. Maybe you'll be that lucky couple... maybe.
What You Need:
1 (2) lb pork loin or pork tenderloin
1 tsp ground sage
Salt
Pepper
3 cloves garlic sliced
1/2 cup water
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp corn starch
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp soy sauce
What You Do:
Slice up your garlic and combine it with the sage, salt and pepper. I use a lot of pepper and probably 1/2 tsp salt because the glaze is salty with the soy sauce. Rub this mixture all over your roast. Use your hands, don't be weird. Place it in your nifty magic food maker with the 1/2 cup water and go shopping for 6 hours!! That's what I did!
No seriously I left the house and forgot to tell John to check on it every once in awhile and I was gone for 6 hours.... he did yard work for 6 hours (or so he says) so apparently no one was inside the house and when I got home I was a little scared to open the lid but when I did it was magic. My magic food maker did not fail me.
Now that it's been 6 hours, it should probably only be left in there for 5 before you start brushing the glaze on, you'll make your glaze! This glaze is most of my favorite items in one and I love pork... so this is perfection.
Combine all of the glaze ingredients in a small saucepan and heat on medium until it begins to thicken. Stir pretty much the entire time so the sugar doesn't burn. It will take awhile to thicken, do not be fooled like me and think it would happen quickly. It took forever but I basted the pork while it was still not thick and it was fine. Brush the pork 3 or 4 times and then serve the remaining glaze with the pork.
I will share that John and I ate an entire pork roast by ourselves, in one sitting, without shame and I would do it again. I would say we evenly split it too... so 1 lb each. I wasn't even too full for Oreos and milk after!! Miraculous meal this was.
This fabulous recipe was found on this super cute blog. She has many other goodies too!
Hope you love it as much as we did and are able to get two meals out of it instead of one. That was my plan but oh well, when it's good it's good.
